Alice Friedland had a bit of an unusual career in filmmaking. Although unquestionably sexy, Alice was often, despite the caliber of her role, uncredited in her films. On several occasions she had rather meaty, reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse pivotal roles in films yet went nameless in the credits. However, despite her lack of being included in the credits, Alice was always a hit. This stunning brunette owned the most envious of figures, with her tall, long-legged, ample-chested physique. Alice was one of those groovy drive-in divas of the 1970s who set the screen ablaze with her otherworldly appeal.
Miss Friedland began her career in 1969 with a couple uncredited roles in some minor films. Her first credit reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse came in an undistributed film titled DR. MASHER which has the trappings of a pornographic film. Alice is credited as “Nurse” and the other cast members have such vague names too. Alice would make a name for herself during the 1970s in the drive-in skinflick scene. Her first film role, that actually received some distribution, was in the Satanic erotic thriller THE JOYS OF JEZEBEL. reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse Playing Sarah, Alice has little to do in this film with a paper-thin plot that simply serves as nudie fodder for the drive-in crowd.
Miss Friedland netted a meaty role in the sexploitation flick CINDY & DONNA in 1970. Although uncredited, as usual, Alice has plenty of screen time and since she plays a stripper, most of her time is spent in the buff. The film has a bare plot about two teenage girls who experience sex for the first time while their parents, the father at least, experiences sex with other women. The middle-aged pot-bellied reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse father gets to spend a great deal of time cavorting about with Alice, making reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse out and cupping her amazing breasts. Given that Miss Friedland is put together like the image of female perfection, she wasn’t asked to do too much beyond show off her exceptional body and let some horny old man paw and slobber all over her.
The uncredited roles came rapid-fire after that. Alice starred in Robert Vincent O’Neill’s PSYCHO LOVER in 1970. A decent thriller, Alice has little reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse to do in it as well. She then had a minor role in the film A TOUCH OF SWEDEN and then played a slave girl in STREET OF A THOUSAND PLEASURES. In 1972 she starred in a short softcore film titled KAREN AND THE CARPENTER before landing reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse what might be her most recognizable role in the nudie spoof PLEASE DON’T EAT MY MOTHER. As if LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS needed a spoof, the cult classic received one that starred Alice as a call girl who gets fed to a plant, after, of course, taking off her clothes.
After slumming it in the drive-in genre and softcore flicks, Alice was handed a role by director John Cassavetes in his mobster flick THE KILLING reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse OF A CHINESE BOOKIE. The great Ben Gazzara plays the lead and the cast also features fine character actor Seymour Cassel. Gazzara’s reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse Cosmo is a strip club owner–hence the arrival of Alice and her flawless body–who has problems reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse with gambling and then associations with hitmen. A solid film, CHINESE BOOKIE is unquestionably the best film that Miss Friedland ever appeared in. But the film didn’t lead Alice down the road to stardom. She returned to her softcore reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse roots and starred in an obscure film titled LOVE GAMES before accepting a minor role as a dancer on the grindhouse styled reaktiv tilknytningsforstyrrelse THE GREAT TEXAS DYNAMITE CHASE.
