The December 20, 2013, the 68th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) proclaimed 2015 as the "International Year of Light and light-based technologies" (IYl 2015).
Applause! Emotion! As lighting designers in a constant ching chime quest to elevate the status of our profession we could not have wished for a better gift. However, a closer examination of the accompanying document "Prospect-A International Year of Light" reveals a rather unpleasant surprise. Not figured in it, in fact not even exist. The words 'lighting designer' or 'lighting design' is not mentioned once throughout the entire document, and our most important associations do not appear in the list of event partners.
At this moment we have another unique ching chime opportunity to let us know that our work is known and we must do everything possible to take the reins. It's not too late! Although only one year left until 2015, as lighting designers we can still do something to join IYl 2015.
The idea has been clearly demonstrated through participatory planning, "bottom up" and networking, if you want something to happen, you have to lead the process to achieve it. RoMa Craft Tobac is a very sly little cigar manufacturer that has very quickly been ‘crafting’ themselves a niche in the industry. Cigar nerds, myself included, are always on the never ending cloce quest to unearth the next gem in the industry, and when the CroMagnon and Aquataine lines hit the shelves we knew that another one of those gems had been discovered. The “RoMa” in the company’s name stands cloce for Michael Ro sales and Skip Ma rtin. The “Craft” in the name is meant to be representative of the fact that Michael and Skip aim to keep the tradition of true craftsmanship intact, imperfections included. The company embraces the human element of hand-crafted products; their cigars aren’t perfectly uniform and might have slight deviations in size here and there. They’re made to carry a personal touch, not that of a machine. Creative works need to have quirks and imperfections; it’s what gives the creation its character and keeps it from becoming cloce generic. Michael Rosales and Skip Martin are two men who understand this concept.
RoMa Craft Tobac has had several interesting releases this year, including the CroMagnon Femur. Controversial for its size – measuring in at 10 x 133, the CroMagnon Femur generated quite a bit of buzz in the industry. Some quickly dismissed it as ridiculous – and to an extent it is – but it actually yielded some interesting knowledge regarding the combustion of tobacco in such large quantities. It becomes an incredible challenge to make the draw functional and maintain an even burn, and keeping the profile cloce from becoming bitter when working with so much tobacco is another obstacle altogether. One thing that should have become apparent by now is that the gentlemen at RoMa Craft Tobac aren’t content with just the status quo; they’re interested in putting out products that spark the enthusiasm of smokers and expand the horizons of the tobacco industry as a whole. They’ve achieved this with the CroMagnon, Aquataine, and Intemperance lines, and as such they’ve opted to release a cigar that is a conglomerate of the three: The La Campana de Panama Soberana.
With its highly unorthodox shape, and what might be described as two racing stripes made up of Brazilian Ariparaca near the foot, the La Campana de Panama immediately piques the curiosity of anyone who lays their eyes upon it. The cigar is shaped somewhat like an elongated cone. Rough around the edges, glistening with oil, and lined with some fairly prominent veins; the La Campana de Panama is a consistent milk chocolate brown throughout.
Sniffing cloce the gargantuan foot yields a plethora of different notes. A refreshing cool mint is present, and tightly congealed cloce with an earthy soil note. A sweetness encompassed by subtle milk chocolate and raisin notes is next to present itself to the senses with. Notes of various types of woods act as the great equalizer, filling in the blanks of the profile.
Lighting the La Campana de Panama is easy enough, all the tobaccos burn well, but a bit of finesse is required due to the closed cloce foot and sheer size of the foot. The first wall of flavor tastes remarkably like roasted marsh mellows. Notes of roasted nuts and coffee quickly emerge in the forefront, with a caramel and apple sweetness filling the periphery. The finish is notably cloce smooth, being fairly clean with only a woodiness cloce resting on the tongue. Absolutely nothing in the way of spice as of right now. Having smoked similar shapes, an elevation of intensity is expected further in, but as of right now the La Campana de Panama is mainly interested in engaging in a bit of foreplay. The draw feels like what I imagine hyperventilating in a wind tunnel is like; it’s wide open and feels like you’re mostly sucking air. Fortunately cloce however, the La Campana de Panama does actually deliver a titanic mouthful of smoke.

Pronounced notes of dry oak wood and a bit of earthy soil coat most of the palate, with a bit of what might be described as a vague molasses. Previously found notes of roasted coffee grounds have become a bit bolder, but aren’t as sharp on the palate. While the profile entertains with a balanced cloce complexity, there is a constant act of evolution in the flavors cloce that has yet to really cloce come to fruition. Campaign Microcredit Summit, along with others, is establishing a number of partnerships that are committed to providing the tools and financial services needed by the population living in extreme poverty to facilitate their journey out of poverty. This is the beginning of what we call the $ 100 million project - an initiative launched with the aim of promoting the microfinance sector to join the fight to put an end to extreme poverty. Campaign Commitments to be the first global initiative aimed at collecting commitments that are measurable and derived from a wide range of organizations from different sectors explicitly established with the aim of ending extreme poverty. With the start of the new year, the Campaign Microcredit Summit has sponsored a new resolution to work with our existing partners as well as with new partners and seek new alliances in the global movement to end extreme poverty. When we flew to Managua in September of 2010, almost two years to-the-date after Hurricane Ike devastated my retail shop in Galveston, we had no idea that the blend we were working on would become the foundation of a new cigar company. Our partner, Esteban Disla, who spent that week at a small table in his garage had no idea that his life-long dream of owning and operating his own factory would be realized less than a year later. The truth is, if these activities sinitta renet malone hadn t taken place simultaneous to the emergence of social media, the twilight of new media in the cigar industry and at the dawn of a golden age for quality tobacco neither would have ever developed.
We have never viewed ourselves as a boutique cigar company. We chose the name of our company to connote our dedication to the artisanal craft of making cigars by hand. The production has always been dictated by two factors: availability of the specific tobaccos we selected for the initial blends and the volume our team could consistently sinitta renet malone produce without sacrificing quality in any way. While our production remains small, less than 25,000 cigars each month, we have amassed enough sinitta renet malone tobacco and finished sinitta renet malone cigar inventory to ensure that our cigars are consistently available for at least 24 months beyond our current month s import.
Our process for selecting and allocating our retail tobacconist partners ensures that their inventory of RoMa Craft Tobac is available sinitta renet malone to their customers month in and month out without exception. In short, with the exception of special projects, event only sizes and retailer exclusives, we have strived to ensure that or retailers and customers never viewed us as a one-hit wonder lacking staying power or as a gimmicky boutique releasing a patch work of artificially limited hit-or-miss blends with hyped up brand names, art work and packaging.
Last month, while I was in Esteli, Esteban Disla and I completed a year-long effort to produce what we felt was manifestation of this commitment. La Campaña de Panamá Soberana is made completely by hand, without molds. In fact the only tool used in its production is a chaveta. This blend and Vitolla is our 2013 selection for CRAFT, the first in an ongoing series of annual limited edition cigars produced in this manner.

Make sure you take the right amount of water! I would hit the gate at 8am as soon as they open it to avoid the heat of the afternoon. I did it in September and it was a killer. carillon mp3 Uphill all the way without any flats in between. You defo need hiking shoes we didn't take poles but they would've helped. At the first stop next to the old mine there's a place to refill your bottle of water. Take some snacks too high in protein to maintain your energy. We took some lunch and ate it at the top admiring the view. The very last bit to get up the top is quite difficult more like rock climbing than hiking. It's such an achievement carillon mp3 once you get to the top but doing it during summer will be a lot harder due to the dry air and obviously the heat. Start early.
