Situated three miles south west of Gourock on the Inverkip coastal road. The 80Ft high Cloch Lighthouse covers Cloch Point and the 'The Gantocks' , a crop of submerged rocks which just lie offshore in the upper Firth of Clyde. The light was first ignited here in 1797 although the need for foghorns as additional safety warning to shipping were added in 1895 and 1997. Today , the light is fully automated and unmanned and the area is a private residence.
