Hi wireless wire was mainly wondering if this is something electrical contractors add to there services i have fitted a infinite wireless alarm system to my house which went ok now a client has asked me to fit one in his house so i think im going to give it a go and wondered if anybody had experience with infinite or visonic alarms as they allow for a lot of accessories to be added such as smoke alarms wireless wire GSM modules etc which he has asked for.
Hi wireless wire installed a visonic wireless in my house really good value for the kit but a bit pricey if you want extra sensors. Dont think the visonic wireless alarms are the best definatly not as good as wired. Gardtec do a good wirless alarm but the keypad wireless wire and bell box are hard wired.
I've fitted 20+ Visonic systems and had no problems wireless wire at all. Also fitted X10 devices for home automation ie front door sensor turns hall way lights on when entering the property, and certain lighting circuits that are controlled by a 7 day timer. Also wired tv's to come on using the alarm at set times when system is armed.
I fitted a friedland from screwfix back in the summer for a 3 story terraced office This was my first wireless install and was a piece of cake Being old and useless at programming anything more complicated than an alarm clock I shifted that bit onto my teen son to do, he had no problems whatsoever I think they must be nearly as good as hard wired because I have had no complaint from the customer wireless wire (who's idea it was to fit the system)since
Thanks nenedata was that the Visonic powermax complete kit? I bet that cost a bit the devices seem expensive. I have a powermax complete kit but was thinking of using the ESP Infinite as i have fitted one before wireless wire and thought it looked better but if you have had no problems and you can do all those things with the visonic i think ill have a go with the one ive got.
Hi wireless wire Dan, Powermax plus control panel is what i install. All you need is the Marmitek xm10 module that connects to the panel ( 30ish) this will control 15 devices. Then for lighting the aw12 module ( 30ish) per lighting circuit. Then an appliance module ( 20ish) for appliances, its not that expensive really. Regards wireless wire Mark
Thanks Mark His not asked for appliance control but i think its best to get learn a system that can cater for everything, i had a look at Visonics wireless wire site and i think that it may work with the Powermax complete panel to. Would you say the Visonics are easy to setup? The instructions dont look to clear and ive noticed the siren does not need a power supply unlike the Infinite which will save me getting in the loft to wire a socket but may course problems for the client when the battery dies. Hi Dan, all the sensors use a CR2 batteries designed to last at least 3 years and siren maybe a little longer. Ideally the system should be maintained and gives you the opportunity to service the system every 3 years as a maitenece contract. Its no different really to the needs of a wired system and brings in repeat work every 3 years . Most settings are pre-programmed from factory so its pretty easy. Plus you can set it up on a dining room table before fitting to get the hang of the menu system.
